In this study, 64 patients with migraines and tension headaches were divided into 2 groups and studied for 3 years. One group was taught biofeedback and relaxation techniques and the other group was just taught relaxation techniques.
The study found that though both groups of patients used less medications for their migraines and tension headaches as the severity and frequency of their headaches decreased, the biofeedback+relaxation techniques group had no additional advantage over the simple relaxation techniques group.
Therefore, if you are suffering from migraines and tension headaches, spend some time every day practising some relaxation techniques. If you don't know how to do that, read Rules of Relaxation which teaches you 130 simple but effective relaxation techniques.
