Keep It Secret

When Nehemiah arrived in Jerusalem, he first went to inspect the destroyed walls to see the work that he was to do at night Nehemiah 2:12) and this signifies secrecy.

In addition, even though he went with a few men on this night trip, Nehemiah says, "I Told no one what God had placed in my heart to do in Jerusalem". (Nehemiah 2:12)

He continues and says, "The officials did not know where I had gone or what I had done for I had not yet told the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials or others." (Nehemiah 2:16)

Therefore keep the thing that God has asked you to do a secret as you prepare how you will do it for we see that Nehemiah surveyed the work in secret. Keep the project private until you have finalized the plans of how you will do it. Keep it in the dark also until you are with the right people to share it and the time is right to share it.

The time is right when you have settled the issue with God and settled the project in the spiritual realm.

Keeping it a secret is important because there are many people who do not want you to fulfill the purposes of God for your life. For example in Nehemiah's case when Sanballat and Tobiah heard that Nehemiah had come to seek the well-being of the Israelites they were deeply disturbed. (Nehemiah 2:10)

Therefore keep what God wants you to do a secret between you and God until the time is right to share it.
