Another device of the devil who is also known as The tempter (1 Thessalonians 3:5) is to set you up so that you can destroy yourself.

Therefore, when you find yourself in a situation where you are being tempted to do something wrong, look for your way of escape to leave the tempting situation and fight back spiritually by speaking the Word of God which is the Sword of the Spirit. (Ephesians 3:17)
