Do you suffer from atychiphobia or fear of failure?
Do you feel the urge to start a new venture but is fear of failing holding you back?
If it is, learn from the servant who was given one talent but he buried it because of fear for he said to his master, "I was afraid and so I went and hid your talent in the ground." (Matthew 25:25)
This servant was afraid of losing his single talent if he went out to trade with it and his business venture failed.
Fear of failure therefore made this servant not use it so that he would not lose it but it also ironically made hims lose it for his master ordered his talent to be given to the servant who had traded with his 5 talents and turned them into 10. (Matthew 25:28)
Therefore do not let fear of failing stop you from using your talents.
Understand also that fear in all its forms is not from God since God has not given us a spirit of fear. He has given us power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
If fear of failure has been holding you back from using the talents that God has given you to start a blog, bakery and any other new business or venture, defeat that fear by following these steps:
1. Have Faith In God
Faith is the antidote for fear. Therefore have faith in God and believe that He can help you succeed in your new venture.
This faith will help you overcome all the doubts that may be circulating in your mind or that have been voiced by those who are close to you because with the Shield of faith you will be able to put out all the darts of the wicked one. (Ephesians 6:16)
2. Have Faith In Yourself
God does not give you a talent that you do not have the ability to use because we can see that the master gave his servants talents based on their abilities. (Matthew 25:15) Therefore believe that if you have been given the talent, you have the ability to use it.
If you do not know how you can use your talent successfully, pray and ask God to show you for If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all freely and without reproach and it will be given.
But, ask in faith without doubting for the person who doubts is like a wave tossed by the wind.
Let not that person suppose that they will receive anything from God because they are double-minded and unstable in all their ways. (James 1:5-7)
3. Commit It To God
Fear of failure is fed by believing that you have to do it all to make it work. But, if you add God to the equation, you reduce the pressure on yourself. Therefore Commit your works to the Lord and your thoughts will be established (Proverbs 16:3) by lifting it up to Him in prayer as you ask Him to bless it and protect it.
