The Importance of Infusing Work with Intention

The importance of infusing work with intention

Since Faith without works is dead (James 2:26) you have to combine your faith with actions to make it alive.

As you act on your faith, ensure that you fill your actions with good intentions so that you can make them powerful.

We see this from the woman with the 12 year bleeding disease because after she combined her faith in Jesus' ability to heal her with her action of touching the hem of His garment, she was instantly healed.

Jesus also sensed her touch for he felt power flow out of Him because He asked, "Who touched my garments?" (Mark 5:30)

His question surprised His disciples because they replied, "You can see the crowds thronging around You and yet you ask 'Who touched Me?'(Mark 5:31)

But Jesus knew someone in the crowd had touched him in a different way from all the other people who were just milling around Him.

He therefore looked around to see who had touched him in that special way and the woman then came forward and told Him the truth. (Mark 5:32-33)

What made this woman's touch different from the touches of all the other people in the crowd was the fact that she combined her touch with intention for she said, "If only I touch His garments, I shall be healed." (Mark 5:28)

Therefore always infuse your actions with intentions if you want them to be powerful.
A simple way of doing this is reminding yourself why you are doing the action before you begin doing it.

For example if you are preparing a meal for your family, you can infuse your cooking with the intention of improving the health of your children.

As you infuse your work with your intention, ensure that your motive is right since God says, "I search the heart and test the mind to give every person according to their ways and the fruit of their actions." (Jeremiah 17:10)
