Another device that the devil uses is insinuation.
We can see an example of
this when he was tempting Jesus for He said, "If You are the Son of
God, command that these stones become bread." … "If You are the Son
of God, throw Yourself down." (Matthew 4)
The devil knew that Jesus
was the Son of God yet by beginning his questions with “If You are ...” he was
suggesting that Jesus was not the Son of God and therefore trying to make Him
prove it.
Therefore, learn from
Jesus that you do not have to prove anything to anyone let alone the devil.
Understand also that you only
have to live to please God because in the final analysis, Everyone must give an account of himself to God. (Romans 14:12)
