How to Please God

How to Please God

To please God you should do the things He likes you to do and not do the things you hates you doing.

Things that you should do to please God include:

1. Have Faith
Without faith it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)

Therefore to please God you must have faith.

So what is faith?

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

This means that when you pray for something that God has promised you in His Word, you must feel the thing that you are hoping God to give you and see it with your mind's eye even if you cannot see it physically.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen Hebrews 11:1

Faith in the context of the Bible also means that you have to believe God and His Word. This means that if something is written in the Bible, you have to believe that it is true.

2. Obey God
Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying His voice?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice and to heed better than the fat of rams. (1 Samuel 15:22)

Therefore know that you must obey God if you want to please Him.

3. Be Righteous
The sacrifice of the wicked person is an abomination to the Lord but the prayer of the upright person is His delight. (Proverbs 15:8)

Therefore be righteous or do the right thing in the eyes of God if you want your prayers to delight and please Him.

Things that you should not do to please God include:
4. Do Not Do What God Hates
The Bible says,  These are the 6 things that the Lord hates: Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:
A proud look
A lying tongue
Hands that shed innocent blood
A heart that devises wicked imaginations
Feet that are swiftly run to mischief
A false witness that speaks lies
A person who sows discord among brethren. (Proverbs 6:16-19)

Therefore to please God do your best not to look at people proudly, tell lies, shed innocent blood, think evil plots, hasten to do evil, tells lies once again and sow disunity among people who are living together in unity.
