Satan is the Accuser
of the brethren. (Revelations 12:10)
We can see this when he accused Job of being blameless and
upright because God had made a hedge of protection around him, his household
and all his possessions, blessed the work of his hands and ensured that his
possessions increased. (Job 1:9-10)
Joseph was also falsely accused of attempted rape by
Potiphar’s life and he suffered in jail for several years because of it.
(Genesis 39:1-20)
The enemies of the
Israelites also wrote accusations against them during the reign of King
Ahasuerus. (Ezra 4:6)
Nehemiah and the Israelites were also falsely accused of
rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem so that they could rebel against the king.
(Nehemiah 6:5-7)
How to Deal with Accusations
If you are being attacked with this device of false accusations
do the following:
Pray
When Nehemiah was sent the open letter with the false
accusations, he prayed and said, “O God,
strengthen my hands”. (Nehemiah 6:9)
Therefore if you are being attacked with false accusations,
pray and ask God to help you so that you can continue doing what He has called
you to do without being afraid of the consequences of the false accusations.
Confess the Word of God
The sword of the
spirit is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17) and confessing Bible verses like
the following can help you win your battle against this device of accusations
since The tongue has the power of life
and death. (Proverbs 18:21)
God shall judge the
righteous and the wicked. (Ecclesiastes 3:17)
Let justice flow like
a river and righteousness like a mighty stream. (Amos 5:24)
The Lord is a God of
justice and blessed are those who wait for Him. (Isaiah 30:8)
Be Faithful
When Joseph was falsely accused and imprisoned, he continued
to be faithful to God. He exhibited his faithfulness when he found Pharaoh’s incarcerated
butler and baker looking sad because they did not have an interpreter for their
dreams by praising God and glorified Him by saying all dream interpretations
come from God before he interpreted their dreams correctly. (Genesis 40:5-22)
As a result of his interpretation, when Pharaoh dreamt a
dream that his wise men and magicians could not interpret, his now freed butler
remembered Joseph and recommended him to Pharaoh for his dream interpretation
skills. Joseph impressed Pharaoh with his skills and wisdom and he was
instantly promoted to be the Prime Minister of Egypt.
Therefore even if you are suffering because of the effects
of false accusations, continue being faithful to God. Praise Him and use the
gifts and talents He has given you to glorify Him because He can use them to
help you the way He did for Joseph.
Wait in Faith
When Joseph interpreted the dream of Pharaoh’s butler
correctly, he asked him to mention his case to Pharaoh because he had not done
anything that deserves imprisonment. (Genesis 40:14-15) However, when the
butler was released, he forgot about Joseph (Genesis 40:23).
Therefore even if you ask people to help you as you suffer
from the effects of the false accusations, always place your ultimate hope in
God because people can disappoint you but The
Lord is a God of justice and blessed are
those who wait for Him. (Isaiah 30:18)
