When the Israelites camped on the plains of Moab before they entered their Promised Land, King Balak sought to curse them and so he sent for Balaam.
When Balaam arrived, King Balak took him To the high places of Baal so that he might see the extent of the people. (Numbers 22:41) Balaam's attempt to curse the Israelites from that place failed.
Then King Balak told Balam, "Come to another place from you may only see the outer part of them" (Numbers 22:41) and he brought him to top of Pisgah. The attempt to curse the Israelites from this place also failed.
King Balak then told Balam, "Come and I will take you to another place" (Numbers 23:27) and so he took Balaam to the top of Peor. His attempt to curse the Israelites from that place also failed.
From these three attempts we can see that King Balak was monitoring the Israelites from numerous places.
This shows us that sometimes your enemies can monitor you from different vantage points. They may monitor your family, your finances, your health, your children and other aspects of your life.
Therefore when you are praying for protection, ask God to cover you and protect all the facets of your life.
Another thing that we can learn from this incident is that God covers us even when we do not know that we are under attack. Chances are that the Israelites did not know that King Balak was monitoring them from the high places of Baal and from the tops of Pisgah and Peor. But God knew. God knew and that is why all those cursing attempts failed.
