The Moses Deliverance

A Moses deliverance is a type of deliverance where you are removed from the problematic situation and compensated for being in it. We can see a classical example from the following stories of Moses’ life.

Pharaoh King of Egypt commanded his people to throw every Israelite baby boy into the river and let every baby girl live. (Exodus 1:22)

It is in this background that Jochebed and her husband Amram were blessed with a baby boy.

When she saw that he was a beautiful child, Jochebed hid Moses for 3 months. (Exodus 2:1) When she could not hide him anymore, she made an ark of reeds for him, coated it with asphalt and pitch to make it waterproof and put him inside it. She then hid the baby ark in the reeds along the river bank. (Exodus 2:3)

One day Pharaoh's daughter saw the floating ark and sent her maid to get it. When she opened it, she saw Moses, he wept and she had compassion on him. (Exodus 2:5-6)

When a young Hebrew girl appeared and asked her if she could go to get a Hebrew woman to nurse the baby for her, Pharaoh’s daughter consented without questioning. (Exodus 2:7-8)

The young Hebrew girl, who happened to be Moses' sister Miriam, went and called their mother. Pharaoh's daughter then commanded Jochebed saying, "Nurse this child for me and I will pay you." (Exodus 2:9)

Jochebed then took her biological son Moses, nursed him and when he grew older, brought him to Pharaoh's daughter to be raised as her adopted son. (Exodus 2:10)

Pharaoh's daughter named Amram and Jochebed's son Moses which means drawn out because she drew him out of the waters of the Egyptian river. (Exodus 2:10)

Since water sometimes symbolizes trouble in the Bible, this Egyptian princess also drew Moses out of the troubles the Israelites were facing in Egypt at that time because they were slaves and she brought him up in the palace as a prince.

In addition, Pharaoh’s daughter also paid Moses’ mother to nurse him when the Pharaoh's command was that he should have been killed since he was a Hebrew baby boy.
Thus Jochebed and Moses received a Moses deliverance since he was saved from the dangers of drowning in the river or being killed and she was paid to take care of him.

We can see another example of a Moses Deliverance when God used Moses to deliver all the Israelites from slavery in Egypt because they were also "paid" for being in the problem.

This is because before they left the problem of being slaves in Egypt, The Israelites had done what Moses had told them and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver, gold, and clothing. And God had given them favor in the sight of the Egyptians so that they granted them what they requested. (Exodus 12:35-36)

Consequently, the Israelite slaves were delivered from their problem of being slaves in Egypt and “paid” for having been in the problem since they left with gold and silver.

Therefore when you are in a problematic situation that is not of your own doing, pray and ask God to grant you a Moses deliverance that will result in you being removed from the problematic situation and also being paid for being in the problem.

To be able to persevere in the problematic situation until God delivers you, you have to stand on the Promise of God for He tells us, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and when you pass through the rivers, they shall not overflow you." (Isaiah 43:2)

Therefore anchor your hope on Isaiah 43:2 by believing that God is with you in your troubling situation and you shall not drown in the problems before He grants you a Moses Deliverance.
