Life Lesson 9 from Prophet Elijah and the Poor Widow
Give To Receive
Another principle
that we can learn from this poor widow is that of Give and it shall be given back to you a good measure, pressed down,
shaken together and overflowing. (Luke 6:38)
This woman gave
flour and oil to Elijah by feeding him and in return she received a good measure of the
flour and oil because she,
her son and Elijah Ate for many days (1
Kings 17:15) for the Bin of flour was
not used up and the jar of oil did not dry up according to the word which God
spoke through Elijah. (1 Kings 17:16)
Therefore if want
something, give of what you have so that you can receive what you want.
Note that this
principle applies for tangible things like food and money and it also works for intangible things like love and patience.
Understand also
that in some situations you may be the one to start giving to a servant of God
before they ask you to give. If you want to apply this principle to your life
and you do know which servant of God to give to, simply ask God to show you.
