Bible Reading
The Israelites lifted
their eyes and saw the Egyptian army marching after them and so they were very
afraid and they cried out to the Lord.
… Then Moses said unto
them “Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which He
will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall
see again no more forever. The Lord shall fight for you and you shall hold your
peace.”
… And the Lord said unto
Moses, “Tell the Israelites to go forward. But lift up your rod and stretch out
your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on
dry ground in the midst of the sea.”
… And Moses stretched
out his hand over the sea and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong
east wind all that night and made the sea into dry land and the waters were
divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry
ground and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
The Egyptian army went
after them into the midst of the sea … The Lord troubled them and took of the
wheels of their chariots so that they drove them with difficulty and the Egyptians
said, “Let us flee from the Israelites for the Lord fights for them.” Then the
Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may
come back upon the Egyptians.” And Moses stretched out his hand and … the sea
returned to its full depth. The Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the
sea for the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen and all of
Pharaoh’s army.
… So the Lord saved
Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians and the Israelties saw the
Egyptians dead on the seashore. (Exodus 14:10-30)
The Israelites
were surrounded by major problems because the Red Sea was infront of them and
they did not have a boat while Pharaoh’s army was rapidly approaching from behind.
However, God saved them by telling Moses to stretch out his hand over the Red Sea and causing
a wind which divided the waters. The Israelites were thus able to walk on dry
ground in the midst of the sea.
When the Egyptian army followed them, God told Moses
to stretch out his hand over the sea and the waters returned to their full
depth and so Pharaoh’s army was drowned in the sea.
Therefore believe
that God can save you even if you are surrounded by life-threatening dangerous
problems because With God all things
are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
In
addition, know that God is not a respector of persons (Acts 10:34) which means
that what He did for the Israelites, He can also do for you if you believe. Therefore
believe that He can save you and if your faith is wavering read How
to Increase your Faith.
However, ensure that you follow the instructions that God gives you when you are
trapped by a sea of problems because Moses obeyed God when he was told to
stretch out his hand over the sea for the Israelites and for the Egyptians.
Prayer
Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help me
remember that All things are possible for
the person who believes (Mark 9:23) so that I can believe without wavering
that you can save me from the dangerous problems that are standing in front of me and chasing me from behind because With God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
