Bible Reading
The Israelites camped in
Rephidim but there was no water to drink. Therefore they contended with Moses saying,
“Give us water so that we may drink.” … So Moses cried out to the Lord … And
the Lord said, Go before the people and take some of the elders and also take
in your hand your rod with which you struck the river. I will stand before you
there on the rock in Horeb and you shall strike the rock and water will come out
of it so that the people may drink.” And Moses did so in the sight of the elders
of Israel. (Exodus
17:1-6)
When
the Israelites were wandering in the wilderness, they arrived at Rephidim where
there was no water for them to drink. God told Moses that He would stand before
Moses at the rock when Moses struck it with his rod so that water would come
out for the people to drink. Moses did as instructed and the Israelites had
water to drink.
Therefore believe
that God can go before you and show you what you should do to get your
sustenance out of the seemingly impossible circumstances surrounding you because With God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
In addition, know that God is not a respector of persons (Acts
10:34) which means that what He did for the Israelites, He can also do for you
if you believe. Therefore believe that He can get you water out of a rock and
if your faith is wavering read How
to Increase your Faith.
However, ensure that you obey God’s instructions because Moses obeyed which
he was told to strike the rock with his rod which he had used to strike the
River Nile when God was plaguing Egpyt.
