Strengthen Your Faith Devotional Day 20

Strengthen Your Faith Devotional Day 20

Bible Reading

The Bible describes Goliath the giant as a champion from the Philistine camp who wore a bronze helmet on his head, a coat of mail and bronze armor on his legs. He also carried a sword and a bronze javelin and a spear with an iron spearhead.  (1 Samuel 17:4-8)

David on the other hand was a shepherd boy who seemed too inexperienced to fight Goliath because King Saul said to him, “You are a youth and Goliath is a man of war from his youth.” (1 Samuel 17:33) Goliath even disdained David when he saw him because He was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking. (1 Samuel 17:42)

David’s weapons were in sharp contrast to Goliath’s because they included his staff, 5 smooth stones and a sling. Goliath even showed contempt for them because he said to him, “Am I a dog that you come to me with sticks?” (1 Samuel 17:43)

However, David slung just one of those stones and it stuck Goliath on his head and he fell down. (1 Samuel 17:4-51)

Therefore believe that God can enable you to win your battles even if you are the underdog because you are too young or too inexperience or too ill-equipped or too whatever because With God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)

In addition, know that God is not a respector of persons (Acts 10:34) which means that what He did for David, He can also do for you if you believe. Therefore believe that He can and if your faith is wavering read How to Increase your Faith.

However, you have to confess your faith in God’s ability to help you win the way David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the lion and from the bear, He will deliver me from this Philistine.” (1 Samuel 17:37)

How to Increase your Faith

Prayer

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help me remember that With God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26) including helping me win my battles even if I am the underdog so that I can believe without wavering that you will help me since All things are possible for the person who believes. (Mark 9:23)

Bible Verse Meditation
