Cure Anger and Aggression Biblically
If you
are prone to thinking angry and aggressive thoughts or speaking angry and
aggressive words or behaving angrily or aggressively, choose a Scripture that
negates anger and aggression like Let
every person be swift to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger because the
anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. (James 1:19-20)
Meditate on this
Bible verse, decide to believe it and speak it out whenever you are tempted to
think, speak or act angrily or aggressively. Then, pray and ask God to heal the
wounds that cause you to think, speak or act this way.
In addition, decide
in advance what you will do when you encounter the situations that trigger this
kind of behavior. For example, you can decide that you will walk away from any
situation that causes you to think, speak or act angrily or aggressively. Once
you are in a safe place, you will cool down by counting to 100 or listening to
Christian worship music from your MP3 player.
Finally, find a way
of releasing the repressed emotions that make you react angrily or
aggressively. You can do this by writing in a journal each morning or blogging
anonymously every evening.
